Gluten-free minis! Today's batch was Carrot Cake, Chocolate Almond, Strawberry Cream, and Not So Red Velvet. So the thing about the gluten-free diet is that there are a lot of GF flours out there (granted, they're much pricier than wheat flour, so be prepared), and a lot of great recipes for various pastries and breads. GF goods also tend to be moister than glutened goods, which makes for awesome texture in things like cakes, cupcakes, and quick breads ( Read more... )

I was there for five hours, as in just got home. Three of those hours were spent waiting in the pharmacy, where apparently they mislaid my prescriptions, then claimed they'd called me about half an hour after I came in, and I must have been in the bathroom or something. It's possible I have a perforation in my eardrum! I'm practicing saying that in my excited voice in the hopes it will kill some of the "Oh damn" of it all.
